************************************************* * That'll Do IT * * ExportAll Add-in * * Copyright 2008 Bill Mosca * * Version 2.2 * ************************************************* Thanks for using our ExportAll Add-in. We built this to fill a void. Microsoft seems to think that you never export more than one Access object at a time. I often need to move hundreds of objects from a secured database to an unsecured one. Because you cannot import into an unsecured database from a secured one, the only method is to export from the secured to the unsecured, one object at a time. ExportAll gives you the ability to export one, some or all objects into another existing database. The screen shows each object under its object type tab. There are buttons to select all or deselect all of each object type. Tables can be exported in their entirety or as structure only. Since you cannot export forms, reports and modules into or from MDE files, those tabs are hidden when such a file is selected as the target database or is the source. *****System Requirements***** MS Access 2000 or later *****Installation Instructions***** 1. ExportAll.exe is a self-extracting file. Double-click the file and unzip it to your C drive. It will create the folder "ThatllDoIT" under your Program Files folder. The add-in ExportAll.mda will extract to that folder. The add-in must be in this folder to properly register as an Access add-in. 2. Open any Access database. Click on Tools>Add-ins>Add-in Manager. A dialog box will open. 3. Click Add New... Browse to C:\Program Files\ThatllDoIT and select ExportAll.mda. This will register the add-in. Close the dialog box. Note: Microsoft automatically creates a copy of the add-in in its Addin folder. This folder's location depends on the version of Access and your operating system. If this is an upgrade to a newer version, use the file search in Explorer to find the older version and delete it. *****To Use ExportAll***** 1. Open any Access database and click on Tools>Add-ins. You will see ExportAll listed as a choice. Select it. 2. ExportAll will open showing all your exportable objects. 3. Select the objects you want to export. All the listboxes are set for extended multiple selection. 4. When selecting tables you may choose structure only by checking that box. 5. When you have selected all the objects you want to export click the export button. The export progress will show in the Access status bar. *****Uninstall Instructions***** 1. Open any Access database. Click on Tools>Add-ins>Add-in Manager... 2. Select ExportAll. Click on Uninstall. This will remove the registry key. 3. You may safely remove ExportAll.mda from the ThatllDoIT folder as well as the copy Microsoft made in its Addin folder. There are no other files such as DLLs used with this Add-in. 4. As with all uninstalls, rebooting is suggested for older systems. *****Version History***** version 2.2 Updated company info, changed color scheme. version 2.1 Fixed list box bug where selections were lost if tabbed off. Version 2.0 Fixed bug where there were too many objects for a value list. The listboxes are now filled using functions.
